Clergy Abuse Survivors Challenge Prominent Greenville Pastor Accused of Victim-Shaming
Twenty-three years after my first complaint, the Diocese of Buffalo was finally forced to address my sexual abuse at the hands of clergy after my story appeared in the Buffalo News. My case so clearly demonstrated the cover-up by the diocese that my fifteen-year-old self became a nationally recognized face for the abuse crisis in the Catholic Church.
With my husband Kipp's help, my role now is as an advocate for justice and to support other victims on their path to becoming recovering survivors.
Response to Bishop Scharfenberger
My response to Bishop Scharfenberger's press conference announcing the Diocese of Buffalo's bankruptcy and his defense of my abuser and other substantiated abusers being allowed to concelebrate Mass with him at St. Leo the Great on 23 Feb. 2020.
